Trigon Brand Guard Artwork & Print Fulfillment Process

Finger Printing

Every printing machine is unique. Hence our inputs need to be calibrated to each particular machine to ensure zero variation.

Our Artwork Management team will access and record relevant information related to each machine of your nominated printers.

We print a Critical Test Master on every nominated machine with standard machine adjustments and the output is analysed to record individual machine capabilities and / or limitations and other specifications.

These include:

  • Maximum web width
  • Maximum number of colours
  • Accuracy of registration available etc.

This information is used to modulate inputs files so as to ensure the same results across various printers.

Ink & Substrate Standardisation

For each design reproduction we handle, our Artwork Management team will standardise the ink used and the substrate specified for reproduction.
This is an integral part of our Print specifications and will be prescribed to all nominated printers. The specifications will contain parameters related to:

  • Ink Shade
  • Blend Proportion
  • Solid Content
  • Tone and system
  • Prescribed substrate

Following these specifications ensures uniformity in design reproduction when the print run is farmed out to various printers. This eliminates the need for last minute rework at the press to achieve desired results and a complete understanding of the task at the printer end.

Obtaining online approval

We upload and distribute low resolution preview files to stakeholders for their perusal, inputs, remarks and approval.

The entire path and the process time are mapped out in the system to facilitate monitoring, benchmarking and flagging of issues.

Setting targets to achieve

Once the approval process is completed, we will create a print simulated output at our sophisticated Kodak Approval NX mock up production facility. This is the benchmark that we set for achievement, and an approval of the same is taken from the “final” approving authority. The approved mock up is now an accepted benchmark to achieve. We create mock ups for cartons, shrink sleeves and pouches.

Production of Print ready artwork

At this stage we prepare the final artwork that is customised to the approved target and the printer’s profile. The outcome of this process is the generation of a print ready closed artwork that will be used by the printer for reproduction.

Onsite Approval

Depending on the importance of the assignment and criticality of the job, our experts can be stationed at the printer’s site for onsite approval.

Creation of the Artwork repository

All approved artworks automatically form part of our repository and can be retrieved for reprinting as required.
